How to Install DLC in Steam

DLC refers to Game Downloadable Content. It is used to separate the players who pay extra from those who will not pay anything to be annual pass holders.  To install DLC on Steam, you need to follow the instructions mentioned below.

Steps to Install DLC in Steam

  •     Go to the game library of Steam.
  •    Choose the game which you wish to enlarge.
  •    Choose the Find More DLC option provided in Store by going to the middle panel.
  •     Choose the DLC which you wish to purchase by going to the Store webpage.
  •     This procedure will be similar to purchasing the base game.
  •     Return to the game library of Steam.
  •     After completing the downloading process, it will indicate downloaded in the DLC panel.

In case you do not get the installed option on the screen, then this means it is still downloading. Choose the Library option by going to the upper side of the menu list, and after that, click on the Downloads option. You will get the DLC downloading option on that window.

It depends on the internet connection or DLC size, it will take a few minutes to complete, but you will get the progress indicator by going to the downloads menu. After completing the downloading process, the status switches into the DLC panel of the game menu. Here’s how:

  •    You will get the downloaded DLC by going to the game properties menu.
  •    You need to right-click on the game given in the Steam library.
  •     After that, choose the Properties option.
  •     Choose the DLC option located in the context menu to check which you have recently downloaded.

  •     Start the Steam again and allow it to start downloading the DLC.
  •     If the Steam servers are facing some problems, then wait for an hour.

  •     Now, confirm the game cache files.
  •     Sign out from the Steam account.
  •     After that sign in to the Steam account once again.
